Eat Out isn’t only SA’s best guide to SA’s best food in name, we’re also top in the game. We have two huge awards ceremonies – with lots of bells and whistles around them – twice a year. As their names below suggest, the one recognises restaurants and chefs, and the other acknowledges small producers.
The annual Eat Out Restaurant Awards, held in November, celebrate the South African restaurant industry with accolades including the Top 10 Restaurants, Eat Out S. Pellegrino Chef of the Year, Restaurant of the Year, Eat Out Grolsch Service Excellence, Eat Out Tsogo Sun Wine Service Award, Lannice Snyman Lifetime Achievement Award in Association with Paarl Media and awards for Best Bistro, Steakhouse, Italian, Asian and Country-style restaurants.
The annual Eat Out Produce Awards celebrate outstanding, independent South African producers for their integrity, passion and innovation. Winners are those who deliver a consistently high quality product that is SA grown or developed using primary produce from SA. Due care and consideration for both the environment and workforce are essential criteria. In addition to small producers, we also recognize stores and markets for their vital role in the process. The awards were established in 2007 and were previously known as the Eat In DStv Food Network Produce Awards.
