Welcome

In the face of tough financial times, it seems as if the entire world is starting 2009 rather cautiously. As if post-holiday blues aren't enough to deal with.

But cutting costs and being budget-conscious doesn't mean we love eating out any less! That's why we bring you our favourite cheap eats, so you can look forward to a year of eating well without breaking the bank.

And if news from abroad is anything to go by, a global trend in paired-down dining is to be expected, as eateries continue to scale down in an attempt to suit our comfort-seeking palates and budget-conscious pockets. Read more about it in our "economical eating" and "restaurant trends" articles below.

We also have some great New Year's giveaways: you could be chauffeur-driven in a brand new Jaguar XF to an Eat Out Top 10 restaurant! And if you post a review before the end of January, a case of Laborie bubbles could be yours.

Here's to a wonderful 2009.

Cheers!
