Food:

Start with the best Caesar salad this side of the Via Appia with white anchovies, a heavenly, fragrant crayfish bisque, or seared ostrich with Belgian endive. The seared tuna with wasabi risotto sounds strange but is fabulous, as are the roast lamb saddle and pan-fried cutlet with herbed potato. The degustation menus are a good route to take if you want to try the different flavours conjured by this talented chef. Make sure you have the vanilla panna cotta with strawberries, if it’s on the menu.

Wine:

An impressive list featuring estate wines and others.

Service:

Professional and slick, the way the Constantians like it.

Ambience:

Delightfully light and airy, with spectacular views of the famous vineyards and all that expensive real estate. This is fine dining at its best.

And...:

Sit in the courtyard if the weather is fine. (GL, October 2011)
