I have frequented this place. It used to be our favorite restaurant because of the great food, view, service and classy ambiance. Tonight I took my mom out for her birthday dinner and the waitrons were lovely- very polite and soft natured. Food was good until we received our grilled yellowtail. To our dismay it was like eating fishy rubber. I kindly asked for the fish to be sent back. The manager then approaches our table and relays to us that yellowtail "actually tastes like that" and "that maybe I just got a chewy end bit". (A little condescending, given that I have eaten yellowtail since I was a child). Confused that he was trying to convince us that the fish was ok and that the chef (who was leaning over the counter on his cellphone) said that is how the fish is prepared. Yellowtail is one of my favorite fish- which is why I ordered it so I was a little bit amused that the manager was trying to convince me otherwise. He did however ask if I would like a drink on the house- feeling it wasn't necessary as the rest of the food was delicious I declined the offer. I understand that it is standard protocol in the restaurant industry, within reason, that the person eating the food must be happy with their meal. I am really not one to be complacent but felt the need to speak up especially at a classy establishment like blues. I wasn't entirely happy with how the manager and chef dealt with the whole situation. That experience kind of put me off which is unfortunate.
