Al Dente Ristorante and Pizzeria (Pretoria) 

Pizza, pasta, carpaccios and a fine list of other Italian fare. Go for the chicken cooked in a vodka, mustard and cream sauce, or the veal escalopes with artichokes in olive oil and white wine sauce. The panna cotta dessert, with either Nutella or strawberry, is beyond delicious but is best tackled by two brave diners.

Fast, friendly and very well informed.

White linen, mo d renditions of the Mona Lisa and Sistine chapel-style paintings on the ceiling fill the interior. Lunch times are quiet and make it the perfect spot for something intimate.

The takeaway pizzas are a must. (GU, September 2010)

Excellent restaurant where the ambience, great food, professional service and excellent wine list all adds to a pleasant experience, each and every time. On each visit the owner was present and her attention to detail is consistent with ones high expectations.
