Food:

This is deli-style dining with an emphasis on comfort food. Think soups (like roast red pepper and smoke paprika), quiches, stir-fries, salads , pastas and grills, rounded out by traditional comfort food like roast chicken served with steamed veggies and mashed potatoes. For lunch, there are also loads of inventive sandwiches, like hummus and Mediterranean roast veggies; roast lamb and hummus; chicken and mango salsa; smoked salmon and Thai chicken – all served on a choice of health bread, kitka (challah), rye or wrap.

Wine:

There is an extensive South African wine list, supplemented by a few select imports.

Service:

Friendly and knowledgeable.

Ambience:

One of Johannesburg’s sharpest-looking restaurants: easy on the eye and oh-so-familiar, yet with a twist. Think edible design colours like biscuit, chocolate, cream and cocoa. There are comfy banquettes for couples, Karoo-styled farmhouse tables for families and sleek proletarian tables for solo diners who prefer the company of their laptop.

And...:

And It’s a WiFi zone, so chances are you’ll be surrounded by loads of quietly clicking day-surfers on weekdays. (JT, September 2010)
