After buying a groupon voucher we decided to try Steak and Ale as a new dining experience. It was for 4 sirloin steaks. When arriving we were not even offered a menu. They had already decided that ordering a starter wasn't needed as we had a voucher for steak. We let that slide. Then we ordered our meals at 7pm! At about 7:45pm, we had not recieved our meals and we decided to get manager, to whom we complained. He apologised, gave us a free round and told us our food was on the way. 15 minutes later we recieved our steaks. Our order was 2 meduim and 2 medium rare. All of them were rare. Now I know that steaks do not  take long at all to make and we get them half raw after waiting 1 hour! Not good enough. If I hadn't paid for the meal prior I would have easily left because the service was shocking! I will never go here again. Restuarant was empty as well so I dont know why it took so long. The only thing I gained from them was finding out there are other restuarants accross the road that I will rather go to next time.

A group of 4 of us went for dinner on Boxing Day 2011. It was the worst meal I have ever (not) had! I ordered the haloumi salad which arrived as a Feta salad! My friend had the beef noodle salad, which arrived with beef on a bed of lettuce! And the 2 guys had steaks (which they had the audacity to charge R120 for) and it was as tough and fatty! The wine glasses were sent back 3 times for being dirty and the manager was too busy socialising than working! Not Good at all - don't waste your time or money!
