Food:

With well-known foodie Judy Badenhorst at the kitchen’s helm, diners can expect her trademark seasonal, laid-back comfort fare. There is, of course, a strong Italian flavour given that this recently refurbished property belongs to the Labia family and strains of operatic melodies combine well with the pasta of the day – the likes of butternut and whole roasted garlic risotto – or the gargantuan Casa Labia club sandwich with all the goodies.

Wine:

Unlicensed.

Service:

Needs to be improved to match the genteel surrounds.

Ambience:

Gorgeous views and a wander through the magnificent palazzo-like surrounds complete the elegant picture. The sun-splashed conservatory-style dining area is a lovely breakfast spot.

And...:

It’s open for regular soirees and smart functions too. (VS, September 2010)
