Food:

Seasonality and availability are hallmarks of the menu. The pork salad is a ballet of fresh, Asian flavours and textures. The beef cobbler, on the other hand, is everything a stew should be but often isn’t: chunky and flavoursome.

Wine:

Food and wine pairing is encouraged with an offering of a few regional wines, Italian imports, and wines from Morgenster.

Service:

Neat, efficient and informed. Eager to spread the word about good food, wine and, of course, salt.

Ambience:

A thatched cottage at the end of a gravel road houses the restaurant. There are views of the winery and surrounding hills, pictures of Sophia Loren, a fireplace, large stoep and lounge.

And...:

Chef Craig Cormack collects salt, which is offered in various shades and flavours. (M&CR, October 2011)
