Food:

The Mediterranean style tapas changes all the time but expect delicious offerings like pan-fried ricotta cakes served with tomato and olive salsa; slow-roasted pork belly with mustard; French tart with caramelised onion, olive and anchovy. Carnivores can pair a plate of charcuterie, salami, Parma ham and chorizo with their wine. Either way, this is food to excite the palate and accompany great wines. End on something sweet like French toast with honey and almond ice cream, and a shot of icy sweet Muscadel.

Wine:

More than 80 wines from SA, Germany, France and Italy by the glass or bottle. Try a wine flight to maximise the experience.

Service:

Snappy and friendly.

Ambience:

A converted warehouse – very New York – with bare brick walls and a long centre counter to encourage interaction. Though you can select a more private banquette or table.

And...:

Linger at the gorgeous bar after you have had enough of eating and swirling. (GL, October 2011)
