Food:

Try the steak sandwich, chargrilled to perfection with crispy onion rings and mustard mayo, or the man-sized burger with chunky fries and barbeque sauce. For something more exotic, go for the Imam’s Delight of aubergine baked with caponata and feta – deliciously rich – or the mussels with cream and a touch of curry. To finish, the irresistible homemade carrot cake with thick cream cheese icing is just the ticket.

Wine:

All the Nitida wines are available at close-to cellar prices, or take your own for R35 corkage fee.

Service:

Friendly and professional, but it gets slower when busy.

Ambience:

This is very much a family place with plenty of kids running around on the large lawns in front of the restaurant, especially on Sundays. At other times, it is a whole lot calmer.

And...:

Do a wine tasting and take home some of the excellent wines. (GL, October 2011)
