Food:

This establishment’s newly acquired Jasper oven produces chicken pieces with the caramelised smoky punch of a proper braai in 10 minutes. They also have a state-of-the-art stainless steel wood-fired oven, so the menu is all about easy comfort food, like aubergine purée with bread fingers or bocconcini in pesto with Parma ham. Everything is served with slick, modern cutlery in a fun environment.

Wine:

Wine is serious business here, and brilliant sommelier Mathelumusa is always at hand to advise. They offer a one litre ‘Sommelier’s Choice’ carafe, and you can taste from a special section of the list before ordering.

Service:

Management and staff all have a fun ‘jeans and sports-coat’ look, but full attention is given to every detail of the experience. Professional in an easy, comfortable way.

Ambience:

The dining room is in a large, multi-functional area that is colourfully decorated for a modern feel. The kitchen is right in the middle of the dining room, tempting you to get up and supervise your steak being grilled.

And...:

Right next to the Teatro at Montecasino, they have special arrangements to start dinner, break for the performance, and return later to complete the meal. (HF, October 2011)
