The eleventh annual Slow Food & Wine Festival will take place in Robertson from 4–6 August 2017. Focused on food that is made and enjoyed slowly, the festival is for those who enjoy savouring delicious meals and wine, and finding out more about how it’s made.

Here are 33 things to do at the Slow Food & Wine Festival this year:

Friday 4 August

• Arendsig: Do the Single Vineyard Tasting at 4pm.

• Bemind Wines: Go to the Slow Garagiste Wine Tasting with vetkoek from 12pm to 2pm. Entrance is R80 per person.
• Bushmanspad Estate: Opt for this wine and gourmet soup pairing at 11am, 1.30pm or 3.30pm. You’ll get four soups and four different types of wine for R150 per person.
• De Wetshof Estate: Have a gourmet dinner with selected vintage Chardonnays at 7pm. This five-course dinner will cost R700 per person.
• Esona Boutique Wine: Taste the difference between different vintages of the same cultivars at 11am, 1pm or 3pm, for R130 per person.
• Igadi Olives: Take advantage of the olive-and-food pairing at 2pm or 3pm for R150 per person.

• Igadi Olives: Dine farm to fork at 7pm. This Mediterranean feast is R450 per person.
• Jan Harmsgat: Savour Jan Harmsgat wines paired with five courses at 7pm for R450 per person.
• Kranskop: Have dinner in the barrel cellar at 6.30pm. The dinner is paired with Kranskop wines and costs R300 per person.
• Rosendal Winery: Don’t miss this wine and Lindt chocolate pairing from 12pm to 4pm at R45 per person.
• Rosendal Winery: There are limited seats available for the food and wine evening from 6pm to 8.30pm. Book now, at R200 per person.

Saturday 5 August

• Arendsig: The Winemaker’s Dinner in Slow Motion will take place from 7pm. Get three courses plus an amuse-bouche for R400 per person.

• Ashton Winery: The Winemaker’s Dinner will be held at 6pm. Enjoy canapés and three courses with wine for R450 per person.
• Bemind Wines: Go to the Slow Garagiste Wine Tasting with vetkoek from 3pm to 5pm. Entrance is R80 per person.

• Bon Courage Estate: Have a buffet breakfast at Café Maude Restaurant from 9am to 12pm. The cost is R95 per person.
• Bonnievale Wines: Attend an unpretentious Winemaker’s Dinner from 7pm. R320 per person gets you three courses.

• Bushmanspad Estate: Opt for this wine and gourmet soup pairing at 11am, 1.30pm or 3.30pm. You’ll get four soups and four different types of wine for R150 per person.

• Jan Harmsgat: Have a slow brunch from 10am to 12pm. The meal will include various cereals, smoked salmon bites, quiches and coffee for R150 per person.
• Klue Wines: Savour a ten-course gourmet dinner at 5.30pm for 6pm. The cost is R600 per person.
• Klue Wines: Go for a tour of the wine cellar with a wine tasting experience. There are three hour-long sessions available and each costs R40 per person.
• Lord’s Wines: Learn about the use of the pipette at the creative food-and-wine experience. From 7pm you’ll be treated to sample tastings from the barrel for R650 per person.

• Marbrin Olive Growers: Have a taste experience at 6.30pm for 7pm. This four-course dinner costs R450 per person.
• Mimosa: Have dinner in the cellar at 6.30pm. Six courses will cost R600 per person.
• Rietvallei: Experience a winemaker’s lunch from 12pm to 3pm. This four-course meal will cost R500 per adult and R120 per child.
• Rosendal Winery: Don’t miss this wine and Lindt chocolate pairing from 12pm to 4pm at R45 per person.

• Rosendal Winery: There are limited seats available for the food and wine evening from 6pm to 8.30pm. Book now, at R200 per person.
• Weltevrede: Delight in this candlelight dinner in the underground cellar from 7pm for R350 per person.
• Windfall: Eat from farm to table at 3pm. This rustic food and wine pairing will set you back R450 per person.
• Zandvliet Wine Estate: Guests will enjoy a vertical tasting, a farm drive, a six-course dinner, accommodation and breakfast for R5 000 per couple.

Sunday 6 August

• Bon Cap: Enjoy the Sunday buffet from 12pm to 2pm. A selection of home-cooked dishes will be served for R140 per person.

• Bon Courage Estate: Have a buffet breakfast at Café Maude Restaurant from 9am to 12pm. The cost is R95 per person.

• Jan Harmsgat: Go for the Sunday lunch from 12pm to 3pm for R200 per person.
• Attend the tenth annual family market, where you can buy local produce like fresh fruit and vegetables, organic produce, olive products, cheese, charcuterie, baked goods, condiments and preserves. The market will be open from 10am to 2pm.

The whole weekend

● Platform 62: Visit from 9am to 4.30pm over the whole weekend to try something new. Discover wines at R40 per person. Also go to taste local products (prices vary), brandy (R70 per person) and wine, muscadel and liqueur tastings (for free).

● Viljoensdrift: Attend free wine tastings the whole weekend from 10am.
