Baked Bistro opens second branch in Sea Point

The Atlantic Seaboard is abuzz with new eateries and cafés opening up on every corner. Fans of a good croissant and coffee will know of the cycling-friendly café, Baked Bistro, that’s situated in a hidden nook in Bakoven. In good news for those closer to the City Bowl, the Baked team has just opened its second branch on busy Regent Road in Sea Point.

The focus of the Baked Bistro brand is to offer an unpretentious environment where customers can enjoy wholesome and rustic food like fresh artisanal breads, pastries and coffee. The newest addition has a fresh new look with pink tables, graffiti-splashed walls and a sneaky view of Lion’s Head.

Fans can look forward to a similar flavour-packed blackboard menu at new Baked on Regent. Breakfasts might include almond or chocolate croissants, curried mince with poached egg and basil aioli, and date and almond compote with unpasteurised yoghurt. For lunch, there will be hearty items like chickpea and artichoke paella, kingklip fish curry, osso bucco, lamb burger with apple and mint chutney and, of course, a range of freshly baked breads and pastries.

As for the coffee, the team uses its own secret blend from Deluxe Coffeworks to keep customers caffeinated. There is also a selection of smoothies and refreshing juices available.

The new Baked Bistro is situated on 98 Regent Street, Sea Point. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for news about both branches.
