Where to celebrate 2018 New Year’s Eve in Cape Town

Azure Restaurant at Twelve Apostles Hotel (Camps Bay)

Celebrate the new year in style at Azure. Enjoy three-course dinner menu with options of goats cheese panna cotta, mussel and prawn curry, beef fillet, or opt for the Joostenberg Duck, gorgonzola and raspberry and manjari and cherry. Guests can also choose the New Year’s Eve Harvest dinner menu which boasts a fresh bread selection, the South African cured meats selection, a salmon trout selection, their hot and cold buffet and more. Balducci (V&A Waterfront)

Enjoy a three-course meal from their a la carte menu this New Year’s Eve. Tuck into starters of baked eggplant with tomato, grilled calamari or oysters. Mains include beef fillet or the shellfish platter and finish with dessert options of mixed berries, créme brûlée, white Lindt chocolate cheesecake or coffee and handmade pralines. The menu is available at R1799 per person and includes a glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Booking is essential.

Belthazar Restaurant & Wine Bar (V&A Waterfront)

Welcome in 2019 with the three-course menu at Belthazar. Enjoy starters of Springbok carpaccio, grilled calamari or oysters, main course options of grain fed fillet or rib-eye, luxury meat and fish platter or the shellfish platter. Dessert options of mixed berries, créme brûlée or the luxury cheese board. The menu is available at R2299 per person and booking is essential.

Bombay Brasserie (Cape Town, City Centre)

Celebrate the last day of 2018 with a New Years Eve dinner at Bombay Brasserie. The menu includes dishes of oyster, Doodhia quail, crayfish, springbok nihari and more. The dinner menu is available at R1650 per person  and includes a welcome drink. A vegetarian menu is also available. Booking is essential.

Bukhara (V&A Waterfront)

Be part of the New Year’s Eve festivities at Bukhara this year. At R1795 per person (plus R179.50 gratuity per person to secure your reservation), you can look forward to dinner served tapas style, Aperitif, sushi and dim sum, tandoori, wok and curry and dessert. Booking is essential.

Burger & Lobster (Cape Town, City Centre)

Spend New Year’s Eve sipping on Aperitif, dancing to tunes from live DJ entertainment and tucking in to a set menu. Enjoy salt and pepper squid as a starter, main course options of The Wolf Burger, The Whole Lobster or Sirloin on the bone and decadent desserts of Nutella and Oreo cheesecake. Gibson’s Gourmet Burgers & Ribs (V&A Waterfront)

Treat yourself this New Year’s Eve at Gibson’s by choosing three courses from their a la carte menu. Foxcroft (Constantia)

Enjoy a six-course dinner at Foxcroft this New Year’s Eve at R1400 per person (R1850 with wine pairing). Each guest will receive a drink on arrival and a glass of bubbles at midnight to toast to the new year. Booking is essential.

Grand Africa Café & Beach (Granger Bay)

Be part of the Pacha New Year’s Eve party at Grand Africa Café and Beach and celebrate the new year in true Ibiza style. R3000 per person gets you entry to the party as well as a scrumptious dinner. Choose from club salad, oyster G&T and a mediterranean board from their table of starters. Choose from main course options of chalmar beef fillet bearnaise, grilled langoustines or homemade potato gnocchi. The Greek Fisherman (V&A Waterfront)

Tuck into their New Year’s Eve menu for R1795 per person. It includes a complimentary Aperitif, menu items of Greek salad, mussels in tomato and feta and spinach pie. Other dishes to look forward to are the sautéed prawns or grilled calamari, the mixed Mediterranean seafood skewer, roast lamb or chicken breast. A dessert mezze platter rounds it all off. Haiku (V&A Waterfront)

Isola at One&Only Hotel (V&A Waterfront)

Isola is doing it for the kids this New Year’s Eve. At R250 per person, kids can enjoy the Children’s New Year’s Eve Buffet. They can tuck into dishes of Meatball Madness, endless pizza, homemade fish cakes with chive mayo, burgers from a burger bar, hot dogs from the hot-dog station and more. Booking is essential.

Karoo Art Hotel (Barrydale)

Ring in 2019 with a New Year’s Eve dinner and party at Karoo Hotel for R595 (half price for children seven to 16 years old). Expect a delicious dinner menu and a live performance from Irit Noble, grande dame of cabaret. This will be followed by a New Year’s garden party with free live music by Ferb Sound Band. Highlights from the menu include fragrant pulled pork sliders with galangal, soy, pineapple and coriander flavours served on a fresh roll with dill-and-sultana coleslaw and small portion potato wedges; a burger bliss section with gourmet beef, chicken and vegetarian burgers served with a small side salad and crisp potato wedges; and a sweet selection of three desserts featuring créme brûlée with home-made chocolate biscotti.

La Colombe (Constantia)

Enjoy live entertainment and a four-course menu this New Year’s Eve. You can tuck into starters of plain pizza base with olive oil, rosemary and salt as well as fan of sliced figs topped with Puglia burrata cheese wrapped in Italian ham. Other dishes include Italian-style, slow oven roasted lamb shank, fresh fillet of Kingklip, homemade canneloni pasta filled with fresh baby spinach, Italian carnaroli rice infused with fresh asparagus or homemade taglioni pasta. Enjoy a six-course Omakase dinner menu at Nobu this New Year’s Eve. Enter into Aladdin’s Cave of Wonders this New Year’s Eve at Raddison Blu. For R1650 per person, guests can enjoy a welcome drink on arrival, live entertainment three-course buffet, front row seats to the magical firework display at midnight and a glass of sparkling wine. Count down into the new year at Reuben’s with their New Year’s Eve Set Menu. For R2750 per person, you can enjoy a complimentary glass of Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial, dishes of beef tenderloin with pickled and roasted carrots, potato, burnt onion purée, beetroot gel, truffle oil powder, roast bone marrow and veal jus. You can also tuck into salmon, king scallop and langoustine confit, fattened duck liver parfait and satisfy your sweet tooth with caramel apple with apple dolce mousse and feuilletine crunch with apple sponge, buttermilk foam, honey comb with apple gel and caramel sauce. Thirty7 (Cape Town, City Centre)

Tuck into seafood tapas, interactive dimsum, farm-to-table and salad poke bowls, finger bites, carvery and a buffet this New Year’s Eve. Remember to save space for the dessert bar too. The cost per person is R945 and R475 per child between six and 11 years old. Booking is essential.

TIGGER 2 Charter (Clifton)

Toast to the new year on board the TIGGER 2 Charter in Clifton. For just R1050 per person, guests can enjoy a 15 piece canapeé platter, a 1,5hour sunset cruise with a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival. A plated dinner will be served upon your return while DJ Didier entertains you with some sultry tunes.
