Where to celebrate 2018 New Year’s Eve in Gauteng

Forti Grill & Bar (Menlyn Maine) 🍽

Celebrate New Year’s Eve on the terrace at Forti, overlooking Time Square at Menlyn Maine. Enjoy a comfortable viewing of the spectacular light show accompanied by a complimentary glass of bubbly at midnight. Le-Si Signature Restaurant (Lynnwood) 🍽 

Toast to 2019 in style at Le-Si Signature Restaurant this New Year’s Eve. You can enjoy a three-course semi a la carte dinner menu and welcome drink for R360 per person (R230 per child 5 years and older and R165 per child 4 years old and younger). Booking is essential.

Orange Restaurant & Wine Cellar (Arcadia)

Nothing says ‘Happy New Year’ than a braai and some bubbly. For R340 per person (R150 for kids under 10 years old), you can enjoy a New Year’s Braai Menu and this includes a complimentary glass of bubbly. Expect dishes of shrimp de gallo salad, Ostrich fillet salad, mini whole chicken spit, Kudu wors, smoked bbq pork ribs and more. Dessert options of yoghurt and cottage cheese semifreddo with kiwi and mint, brown butter waffles served with Bar-One chocolate sauce and a peppermint crisp ice cream cake will be available to round off 2018 on a sweet note. Johannesburg

Marble by David Higgs (Rosebank)

Dance into the new year at Marble with music from the 80’s and 90’s. You can also enjoy a three-course a la carte dinner and a glass of Moët and Chandon at the stroke of midnight. The cost per person is R1500 and booking is essential.

Radisson Blu Hotel (Sandton)

Count down into the new year with a five-course dinner for only R725 per person. The price includes a welcome drink, sparkling wine and live entertainment. You can also join the festivities at their New Year’s Eve party. Entry costs R150 per person, food and a cash bar will be available. Booking is essential.

EB Social Kitchen & Bar (Sandton)

Celebrate the new year at the Midsummer Night’s Dream themed party at EB Social. The restaurant will be transformed into an enchanted mirage of fairy lights and forest foliage. Enjoy soothing sounds by the David Cousins Quartet on the evening, a welcome drink, a five-course dinner inspired by the mischievous Shakespearean play and a small bottle of bubbles at midnight. Tickets cost R950 per person and booking is essential.

Flames Restaurant at The Four Seasons Hotel (Westcliff)

Put on your dancing shoes this New Year’s Eve and head down to Flames Restaurant where music and dancing begin at 8pm with live music performed by Badwolf, a fresh five-piece band from Johannesburg. Guests can enjoy a starter buffet with options of shrimp salad, baked duck spring rolls, pineapple and wild rice salad, you can also choose a selection of sushi and condiments from the Live Station. A la carte main course options of pan seared line fish, thyme and garlic roasted chicken, grilled beed fillet, braised pork cheeks and ricotta gnudi are available. To round off this massive dining experience, you can enjoy a selection of local cheeses with preserves, crackers, pantone and grapes or choose from a selection of Festive Desserts. The cost per person is R2100 and booking is essential.

Guests can enjoy a special New Year’s Eve Dinner at View. Thereafter guests are invited to join in the dancing, entertainment and festivities at Flames Restaurant before toasting the arrival of the New Year at midnight. The cost per person is R2500 and booking is essential.
