Chilled sherry paired with tapas…

Well-known local fortified wine specialists, Monis, has just released the low-alcohol Monis Fino sherry, which interestingly, is consumed like dry white wine – ice-cold.

It has a ‘yeasty bone-dry’ taste with biscuit, almond and nut characters and works well on crushed ice as an aperitif too.

Since it’s made in the real Spanish Manzanilla style, what better to pair it with than seafood and tapas.

Chef, Peter Goffe-Wood, feels that the Monis Fino works well with a typical Spanish seafood tapas lunch.

‘The Fino has an elegance that brings out the more subtle elements of the food but at the same time the sherry also has an underlying power that cajoles with spicy and smoky tastes – definitely the most agreeable sherry to drink and to work with’, says Goffe-Wood.

Cheers!

Monis Fino is available in 500ml bottles at all leading wine outlets country-wide and retail at around R45 per bottle.
