New: Dieu Donné restaurant

The beautifully situated Dieu Donné wine estate in Franschhoek has opened a brand new cellar-styled restaurant – arguably boasting the best view in the valley.

Here Chef Jo van Staden creates healthy, gastro-bistro cuisine, drawing her inspiration from her travels through the Mediterranean, Asia and Africa.

Three separate menus will entice casual diners and serious gastronomists alike. The Terrace menu focuses on Mauritian & Mediterranean tapas with flavourful salads, spicy Mozambique prawn buckets, wood-oven roasted squid, pizzas and decadent pastas.

Lunch in the cosy vaulted brick dining room consists of light meals such as Turkish pizza with aubergine, roasted peppers, chorizo and egg; Feuillette of salmon trout with fennel and horseradish mash; or truffled prawn spaghetti.

Dinner is a slightly more serious affair with delectable treats such as seafood cappuccino with a saffron essence; salmon trout sashimi served with buchu tea soba noodles; or hanepoot glazed pork belly.

Match your food with the estate’s award-winning selection of wines (their Maingard method cap classique is a must) or one of their own beers from the new microbrewery.
