If bread is your thing, you simply must pay a visit to this Pretoria favourite. Even though this well-designed eatery is set in a busy mall, Lucky Bread Company’s interesting baked goods, breads and sandwiches won’t disappoint.

Food

For passersby, a must-try is one of their expertly brewed coffees (choose from a vast selection of single-origin beans), some delectable baked goods, and a loaf of bread – or two. The sweet-potato bread and multi-seed loaf are simply fantastic.

If you have time to sit down to one of their sandwiches, things get even better. The spicy chicken meltdown is one of the best sandwiches you will find in Pretoria. Spicy chicken breast tops the bread of your choice, along with with jalapeño mayo, mozzarella and avocado, with a side of spicy tomato salsa.

Their hot-press sandwiches are equally legendary and, if you have a big appetite, their Man Sandwich might be your idea of heaven: imagine gypsy ham, smoked pork, peppered salami and bacon with mozzarella, emmenthal, mustard-mayo, tomato and micro greens on not one, not two, but three slices of ciabatta. It will leave you feeling satisfied, to say the very least.

Drinks

Lucky Bread Company is not licensed to sell alcohol, but guests are bound to find something to suit their mood in the selection of expertly brewed single-origin coffees, fine teas, shakes, smoothies and freshly pressed juices.

Ambience

The ambience is what you would expect of an eatery situated in a mall: busy, bustling and noisy. However, this is not the place you will be sitting at for hours, enjoying a lazy meal. Quick coffees and sandwiches are the name of the game here. The restaurant is beautifully designed with interesting furniture.

Service

Service can be a little slow when they are busy; however, the staff are always very friendly and the baristas excel at their craft.

And…

Their milkshakes and waffles will provide the perfect sweet end to your meal.
