Is this South Africa’s lowest-priced café?

It’s time to dig inside the sofa and break into that piggy bank: A new Durbanville spot, Xpresso Café, is offering an entire menu for just R10.

The owners have been teasing Capetonians since February with the launch of their restaurant, but it was only in September when Xpresso Café in Durbanville made the groundbreaking announcement that their fare would be cheaper than the average train ticket.

The menu of R10 items features pastries, sandwiches, teas and all your coffee favourites. It doesn’t sound as if the price tag has influenced creativity, either – expect unique treats like a cinnamon-choc twists and brownie balls.

Even better: They plan on opening at least two more stores in South Africa, so more of us can share in the joy.
