Mezepoli is arguably one of South Africa’s best wine bar and mezze house combinations. The small plates of Greek mezze are simply outstanding and consistently so: visit after visit this slick kitchen operation keeps delivering great flavours. Standout plates include the feta-stuffed calamari tubes, biftekia (Greek burgers), Serrano ham with caper berries, sheftalia (traditional Cypriot sausage), gruyère croquettes, black-eyed beans, and grilled sardines. The house-baked pita breads with dips make the perfect snack with a cold glass of wine on a hot Joburg day. The mezze menu is supplemented with a small selection of meat and fish dishes offered as main courses, as well as an excellent selection of sushi.
