The Roundhouse relaunches

Camps Bays second oldest building, the historic Roundhouse, has been lovingly restored as the Mother Citys latest swishy eatery.

The focus is on uncomplicated, contemporary French cuisine, as Chef Ronan ODwyer and the team at The Roundhouse restaurant aims to bring Capetonians a nostalgic dining experience that calls upon the history of the city in its former days of glory.

Three menus present diners with the options of canapés, a full a la carte menu with four courses, or a set three course menu.

The likes of red onion tarte tatin with gorgonzola and watercress, or goats cheese souffle with walnut, balsamic onion and basil are presented as starters.

Mains are decidedly more serious with options such as crisp-skinned Norwegian salmon with minted petit pois, pancetta and pomme puree; pepper encrusted fillet of tuna with scallop and tiger prawn risotto, or roasted fillet of beef with gnocchi, tomato ginger confit and pinotage jus.
