Following in the unfortunate footsteps of Madame Zingara, the ultra-chic Wafu bar and Asian tapas restaurant above Wakame in Cape Towns Mouille Point has been badly damaged by a fire which broke out in the kitchen in the early morning on Monday March 19.

The spot was popular for sundowners on the open-air deck which featured panoramic sea views.

Wakame below was also affected by the fire but damage is minimal.

Wafu will be missed!
