Wine, olives and other gourmet titbits…

The Robertson Wine Valley’s Wacky Wine Weekend is taking place from 1-3 June – an experience not to be missed. Over 45 wineries from the area will offer plenty of wines to taste as well as other outdoor activities, including boat cruises, live music, a half-marathon, cheese & olive tasting, Italian pole-climbing (Plao della cuccagne) and vineyard quad biking.

This is a perfect, fun-filled weekend escape, only a few hours from Cape Town.

If you are a wine fundi, or just purely interested, this is a great way to experience the local winemaking community and to meet winemakers in the area.

Foodies will love the plethora of cuisine options during the fest, including Arabian, Brazilian, boerekos and of course oysters and bubbly.

If you are planning to stay over, you had better book this minute! Otherwise, drive up for the day.

Buy a ‘passport’ for R30 at your first winery, where you will receive your guide booklet too – then all other activities are pay-as-you-go (some are free).
