Pretoria residents, it’s almost time to get your champers on at the annual Brooklyn Bubbles festival, which returns to the capital in early March.

Held at Brooklyn Mall in the evening on Friday 3 March and the afternoon of Saturday 4 March, the festival will feature more than 20 of South Africa’s finest Methodé Cap Classiques and champagnes from France, as well as great bubbly-loving food and live music.

Taittinger

Sparkles up for sipping include those from Avondale, Nicolas Feuillatte, Taittinger, Charles Fox, Domaine des Dieux, Genevieve, Krone, Luc Belaire, Montpellier de Tulbagh, Paul René, Pierre Jourdan and Villiera.

Chef Vanessa Marx of Culture Kitchen, winner of the 2013 Eat Out Nederburg Rising Star Award, will supply the likes of charcuterie, cheese boards, oysters, barbecue pulled-pork buns, sushi, churros and mini doughnuts.

Tickets to the VIP event on the Friday evening cost R600 per person, which includes a welcome glass of bubbly, 20 tasting coupons and three food coupons, one of which will be for dessert. (The organisers say the food will satisfy even the hungriest human.) Tickets for Saturday cost R300 per person and include a complimentary glass and 15 tasting coupons. Food will be available to purchase. On both days extra coupons for bubbly tasting and food will be on sale.

Brooklyn Bubbles will take place at Brooklyn Mall, in a marquee next to tashas off Veale Street, on Friday 3 March from 6pm to 10pm and Saturday 4 March from 12 noon to 5pm. Book tickets now on www.webtickets.co.za and follow the hashtag #BrooklynBubbles on social media. (For single bookings of 10 people or more, the organisers are offering a 15% discount.)
