The Elder Lady Cocktail

Hendrick's Gin cocktail

Hendrick's Gin, made with Bulgarian Rosa Damascena and specially selected cucumbers, brings you the Elder Lady tipple.

Ingredients

37.5ml Hendrick's Gin
12.5ml St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
One whole egg white
5ml sugar syrup

Method

Hendrick’s Gin, created with remarkable Bulgarian Rosa Damascena and specially selected cucumbers from the finest producers, invites you to explore the Elder Lady tipple, which dazzles an array of exquisite and extraordinary flavours to satisfy almost any palate.

Hendrick’s Gin’s inexplicable botanical signature contains a string of 11 botanicals from around the world. One such botanical is Elderflower, the flower of the elderberry bush. When used authentically, it must be harvested immediately in the spring upon blossoming – making this cocktail more suited for spring than you are suited for your lover.

Legend has it, the springtime often saw people rising early to pick flowers to decorate with, or weave into garlands and wreaths. It was a time to stop and enjoy the sunshine. As tiring as the season was, in many traditions, it was thought dangerous to fall asleep under an elderflower tree in bloom, as one could awaken in the underworld of the dead or fairyland.

While its mystical powers can’t be vouched for, the Elder Lady tipple, imbued with the most curious gin, elderflower liqueur, syrup, and egg whites is an absolute reality. Perfectly garnished with an edible flower to round off into springtime oblivion.

Preparation:

Shake hard over ice and strain into teatime martini glass. Garnish with an edible flower.
