Food:

Every neighbourhood in the city seems to have one an Italian restaurant and the quality is excellent. It has to be because there’s a bunch of them. From their delicious thin-crusted pizzas to the melanzane parmigiana, the tender calamari and the spinach and feta panzerotti, the full cast is represented in glorious colour and as tasty as you could wish for. They’ve been around for a handful of decades and the quality of the service and food is always maintained, that’s why they’re a regular on the city’s menu. They also offer many different options from the terrace to fine dining.

Wine:

Go for the Italian option. They also make mean cocktails.

Service:

It’s on the button.

Ambience:

The thing about this one is that it is situated at Wonderboom Airport. And they’ve incorporated it smartly with a terrace that’s almost part of the runway. It’s very tough to resist and a dead certainty if you’re taking the kids along.

And...:

It’s tough not to go the movie route and wipe away the tears à la Ingrid Bergman as the plane departs. (DdeB, September 2010).
