Food:

This vast menu can be daunting to the Western diner, so let the knowledgeable staff guide you through it all. The cuisine of Japan, China, and Thailand are the stars. The dim sum is delicious with scallop and salmon roe, as is the superb prawn spring roll. During the evening, the slowly disappearing line of ducks hanging in the kitchen attests to the popularity of this bird here. There’s a huge selection of sushi, soups, sashimi, salads, grills, tempura, and hot pots.

Wine:

A vast list, some with hefty mark-ups.

Service:

Generally good and friendly.

Ambience:

In the very dark, large room, one could be anywhere in Fu Manchu country. You will look in vain for the madam to swish through the beaded curtain. The abundance of dark wood reinforces the Suzy Wong idea. The main attraction is the open kitchen, from which delicious float.

And...:

Watch the budget or you could be in for an unpleasant surprise. (GL, October 2011)
