With its red, green and white décor in the Italian flag colours, Franco’s is little Italy in Johannesburg, and not your average franchised South African pizzeria either. Cosy and unpretentious, Franco’s is a beautifully understated family restaurant that boasts some of the most authentic Italian food in the city. Apart from the excellent pizzas, the dishes of the day are always some of the finest that Italian cuisine has to offer. It’s a pity there is no comprehensive wine list. (ZM)
