Owner's description

Bombay Brasserie is open and ready to welcome you.
Sumptuous and alluring décor mixes with exotic and dynamically textured fine Indian cuisine at the new Bombay Brasserie, will tantalize every sense and awaken a spirit of India in your consciousness.
Named after the multi-cultural and cosmopolitan Indian city, Bombay Brasserie offers diverse cooking styles from all across India and adds two unique elements... authentic Cape Town flair and flavour. This results in some of the finest dishes to be served outside India. The new Bombay Brasserie fine dining menu still includes firm favourites, however, eight new star dishes have been added, including Baingan Bharta {clay oven smoked Aubergine crush with crumbled feta} and Tikka Masala {Charred Tikka, fenugreek, onion and tomato sauce}.
Another exciting addition, and further enhancing the fine dining experience at Bombay Brasserie, is the Bombay Brasserie Bar, where patrons are welcome to enjoy pre-dinner drinks from the extensive range of cocktails, beers, wines and a collection of the finest whiskies and brandies; where Taj Cape Town will serve you everything of the best.
Guests can also choose from an array of small plate dishes, which allows diners to experience a fine dining interpretation of Indian street food in a casual setting.
“My team and I are delighted to have the small plate dishes on offer at the Bombay Bar and we believe that this is something quite unique for Cape Town,” says Executive Chef David Tilly.
Refreshed, expanded and refurbished, Bombay Brasserie transports patrons to the heart of India with-out leaving Cape Town’s inner city, offering the exceptional alchemy of fine dining fused with traditional authentic Indian design.

After an indulgent afternoon being pampered at the Jiva spa, my partner and I were lookin forward to a dinner of the most delicious Indian Cuisine. In truth I am the real fan of good curry, enjoying the taste and the heat tremendously, while my partner is open to good food but not necessarily hot food. She needn’t have worried! Our attendant Veronique, was very knowledgeable and courteous, recommending a lovely Ondine Chenin blanc to go with our dinner and never being more than a slight hand gesture away. Portion sizes were perfect. With the amuse bouche really whetting our appetites for the culinary journey that lay ahead! The steaming spectacle that is the mango sorbet palate cleanser was truly a sight to behold. It really brought out my inner child! Dinner was a delightful! A mild prawn and mango chutney curry served with saffron rice, it even had my better half commenting that she might have been able to handle and even spicier version. We rounded out with a delectable crème brûlée and a beautiful variation on cheese cake that looked almost too good to eat! What a lovely experience, set in a plush colonial feel dining room with thick carpets and low chandeliers! Beautiful.
I would like to start with saying how grateful I was to be served by Lizle Kester! She made us feel so welcome!!! Thank again! Now... The decor is absolutely stunning! Flawless with chandeliers and comfy chairs. Unlike any other Indian restaurant we've been at in Capetown. The food was amazing!!! So vibrant, colorful, flavoresome and delicious ! My tastebuds were doing a happy dance throughout the night. What completely blew me away was the mango and the steamed theatrics that came with it! Nothing short of brilliant!! I would 110% recommend this restaurant for great quality, fine dining at its best, spectacular service and a great ambience! Here's to many more returns!!!!
Best Indian food in Cape Town - without doubt !
Delicious authentic Indian cuisine at its best. Very warm and informative service. Elegant ambience. Best Indian food in Capetown. Highly recommended.
Love this place! Look no further if you are in quest to find quality Indian food. I was introduced to Taj Cape Town in 2012 when I hosted my Wedding Anniversary and ever since I haven't looked beyond. Delectable, Palatable are few of many words that come in your mind when you think of Taj's food. Recently I was introduced to "Lamb Shank" by a friendly Chef and I kid you not readers, the delicacy has left me craving for more. Over All the restaurant, Bombay Brasserie, gets a Super Thumbs Up from my side and on behalf of many zealot foodies that I know off.
