Food:

One feels like Alice in Wonderland amid the upside-down teacup chandeliers, chipped mosaic butterfly motifs and the stars, stripes and polka dots in blue, pink and purple cupcakes. The menu is delightful, with a well-chosen selection of sandwiches, salads, a go-by-weight buffet and favourites like traditional boere chicken pie with veggies. The pizzas are excellent, with crisp, bubbled bases and gorgeously melted toppings. Try the mozzarella, roasted pumpkin and feta pizza topped with shaved parmesan, rocket and toasted pumpkin seeds.

Wine:

A small choice of local wines and beer, along with hot and cold beverages, smoothies and non-alcoholic cocktails are more than enough to choose from for a casual lunch.

Service:

Sincere, but haphazard and slow.

Ambience:

This doll’s house with its gingerbread men, striped and spiralled bon-bons and liquorice all-sorts is a treat to behold. A bit more focus on the patrons and magic applied to food with a flourish will make this top class.

And...:

This is one of the most delightful interiors in Johannesburg. (AlK, September 2010)
