This is a quick response to Richard's posting. Unfortunately last Friday we had last minute staff shortages and service was not as fast as usual.
However, we had no complaints on the night and everybody seemed happy (in fact the staff tips were higher than average!)
Perhaps you could email us direct via our website so we can follow up?

If it wasn't for the great pizza, and the always pleasant Massimo-The Pizza club would NEVER see me again. I was there last night,and the service was just NON EXISTANT, never mind absolutely shocking.
Most of the staff were running aroung like headless chickens, and it made my eating experience VERY unpleasant!

This is one of Cape Town's best-kept secrets, and I am loath to let other people know! The best, most delicious Italian pizza I have tasted in SA! They have an excellent special on which allows you to sample many different pizzas with a large group of friends. Sit back, relax and enjoy a languid eating experience. They also make many of their own divine Italian treats, including sangria, limoncello, chocolate liqueur and more...

Massimo and Tracy (the owners of the Pizza Club), warmly welcome you and your friends into their restaurant. It feels like home as soon as you arrive, because of the personal interaction they have with all of their guests. The service is great and the food is really delicious as well as good value. Definitely worth a visit! Great venue too for parties!

Tried this delicious restaurant at the end of May -what a treat! Being a group of 8, we opted for the Full Italian Experience which I highly recommend! Most flavoursome thin-based, wood fired pizzas and as for the tiramisu... velvety heaven! Massimo, Tracey and staff were friendly and very welcoming, which was the cherry on the cake regarding the overall experience of the night.

After reading the reviews on this site, we were keen to try out the pizza for ourselves and were looking forward to trying them all as advertised. As we had children with us, we opted for the 6pm sitting when booking, as the website stated there were 2 sittings a night. On arrival, we were told by the waitress we couldn't have the "feast" as there were not enough people in the restaurant yet. Massimo was quite abrupt and confirmed it wasn't worth his while to make the pizzas as the other tables were only arriving at 7.30 and he wasn't sure if they were going to order the "feast". We were then told they had changed the system and there were no longer 2 sittings a night - information we could have used when booking as we would also have preferred to eat at 7.30. We were extremely disappointed that they were not prepared to offer us what they advertised. The pizza's were excellent but expensive. The service, ambiance and attitude of the proprietor however left a lot to be desired.

We just got back from Massimo’s Pizza Club in Hout Bay. This is without any doubt (and I really don’t need any input here) the best Pizza in CT, if not SA - seriously authentic, seriously flavoursome pizza. Pizza Club has taken over the scarecrow farmstall coffee shop cum children's playground at night and the scarecrow interior and italian pizza local sit somewhat uneasily side by side however, husband and wife team Tracy and Massimo are delivering the REAL thing. Try BIANCA : Smoked Mozz, Rosemary, Garlic. COPPA: Tomato. Mozz, rocket & coppa. FINOCCHIO: Fennel, garlic butter, mozz & parmesan. PANCHETTA: tomato, mozz, pancetta, mushrooms. The Pizza’s are seriously good - thin based, wood baked and topped with quality italian ingriedients. Wine list is short and sweet with a handfull of accessible whites and reds all @ R65 a bottle (can u believe ?) After dinner we had a selection of homemade ice creams ( R30 ) - the dark choc is a work of art. The menu is either a la carte R44 - R79 per pizza or R88 for the pizza feast which includes a salad and all you can eat pizza where Massimo keeps sending out a variety of topped pizza’s until you can’t anymore. Also a R140 3-course menu for tables of ten or more which includes antipasto.
The Homemade Limoncello is a MUST - a zingy pick me up ( R18 ). Bill for 2 incuding a Beetroot & Feta Salad, corkage, 2 Pizza’s, 2 Ice Creams and 1 Limoncello - R290.00. Book soon - you will thank me!! Tel 073 390 1373 or 021 7907906 Wed - Sat Dinner, closed whole of June.

Simply the best pizza you can have. The hosts, Massimo and Tracy are fantastic. Friendly, helpful and courteous. The pizzas sublime and unlike anything I have ever had. Could easily eat there every week. Favourite is the fennel and parmesan. And the duck is heavenly. They source the best, freshest ingredients and so much care goes into each one. Support them!
