Food
Whether it’s breakfast or
lunch, there’s always something to
get excited about in this beautiful
venue. The eggs Benedict alone
is worth the drive! Midday options
are substantial and the open
sandwiches (try the roasted
peppers and brinjal) would satisfy
a trencherman. Offerings such as
deboned quail with a smoked feta
and yoghurt sauce show assured
touches in the kitchen. And the
desserts and cheese platters
are superb.
Wine
Vrede en Lust wines feature
largely. Nice by-the-glass offerings.
Se rvice Cheerful and attentive.
Waiters are happy to explain dishes
and help with recommendations.
Ambience
The floor-to-ceiling
glass doors are magnificent.
White, monochromatic and contemporary,
the focus is on the adjacent
vineyards and mountains.
And...
Don’t leave without
browsing the deli. (FM)
