Food
No pizza or heavy cream
sauces here. Instead, expect a
modern take on traditional Italian
cuisine, with fresh seasonal ingredients
paired with delicious homemade
pasta. The ravioli and risotto
are excellent, or be tempted by the
daily specials that include meatier
options – think slow-cooked ragout
served on tagliatelle. Their gnocchi
is the best in town!
Wine
Extensive and inspired wine
list offers SA’s good and great
at fair prices, although there’s a
passable selection of Italian wines
on offer too.
Service
Enthusiastic and knowledgeable
waitrons know the menu
backwards, and are happy to
suggest food and wine pairings.
Ambience
Clean, modern décor
and double-volume ceilings set a
trendy yet relaxed tone. With large
tables the place can get noisy, so
ask for a quiet table downstairs for
that romantic dinner.
And...
Take a walk through the
well-stocked wine cellar if your wallet’s
ready for a rare vintage. (RH)

Outstanding night out, we really enjoyed everything about Il Leone Mastrantonio. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and professional. The food was exquisite (freshest cozze provincial and porcini mushrooms I have ever had) and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. 5 stars all around for me.
