After much anticipation and planning - a bookclub night out was planned to 1904 Bistro Americain. We were left disappointed. Firstly we were not informed that there was no drinks license. Then had to wait 15 minutes for a waiter to assist. When one was eventually flagged down he tried his level best but was ill equipped and clueless what was there flag ship dish. No ice bucket available for the purchased wine (thanks Woolworths!) and just a general lack lustre feeling from all the staff encountered. The food on the expensive side. Kiddies Mac and Cheese R65! Hoping things would improve - alas the food arrived after a 50 minute wait. One expected it to be warm but all 5 dishes were cold, and just lacking in flavour. Lets hope that with time and training things will improve!
