Active Sushi (Bree Street)

My favorite sushi restaurant in Cape Town- we come at least once per week for the all you can eat special. Normally "all you can eat sushi" means stale rice and fish that is barely edible, not so at active sushi. Their sushi is as good as any premium sushi in town, the salmon and the tuna is always fresh and beautifully prepared (special shoutout to chef Lourens, formerly of Nuri sushi factory). The rice is also fresh and delicious. The menu is not terribly fancy as far as the specials go, but with high quality tuna and salmon prepared any way you like, as much as you can eat, its hard to go wrong. Active also has a very nice selection of foreign beers that are equally well priced. Last but not least is the friendly atmosphere and attentive staff, for instance unlike other all-you-can eat places, Active does not mind its patrons sharing their plates as long as everyone is doing the special. It is best to call in advance as it does tend to get busy (by the way we often see tourists from Japan eating here). Be sure to ask for Irvin who always takes good care of us.
