Flames Restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel

My husband surprised me with a brunch at Flames for my birthday on Sunday. Everything was great, except that the waiter did not acknowledge that it was a birthday celebration. The table next to us, was treated like royalty by their waiter (maybe you get more attention if you have a larger table booked), and the birthday was acknowledged with a complimentary drink of her choice etc. My husband had told them it was a birthday when he booked, and I had a gift and card in clear view, so it was obvious that this was a celebration, even if the information had been missed at the time of booking. It felt as though it was just duty to serve us, instead of making it special. The buffet food was good, but the cooked plated food was average.
