The focus here is on big, bold, generously portioned food. The menu is suggestive of American diner style of cooking, with enormous burgers and legendary milkshakes.
This is not a safe place for dieters. Breakfast items are substantial, and as robust as the lunch options.
The evocatively named “Eggslut” is a sweet and savoury decadent delight, with crispy bacon, gooey camembert, soft poached eggs on a toasted English muffin, with tomato relish and sweet chilli sauce. The Big Daddy omelette threatens every ingredient “but the kitchen sink” and is not to be taken lightly.
The ‘Famous Flavours’ Burgers are monolithic totems, piled almost comically high with ingredients, and smothered in an avalanche of sauce. A thick, chargrilled beef patty, topped with caramelized onions, wedges and garnish is sandwiched between fresh burger buns.
One of the first restaurants in KZN to bring the Freakshake trend to our shores, their milkshakes are a suitable pairing to their burgers, matched size for size. In keeping with the trend, and with the style of the food at Flavours, the jam jar milkshakes look as though a dessert has been upended into a glass. Clouds of whipped cream and candy floss, cascades of caramel and other sauces, and an avalanche of candied and cookied debris crown these potable desserts in a glass. The hot chocolates served are treated much the same. Fun for kids of all ages!
Waitstaff are friendly and attentive, but if it gets busy there can be a little wait between orders.
Comfortable and cosy, nestled in a garden setting at Dunrobin Nursery. The atmosphere is relaxed and buzzing with patrons, punctuated by happy sighs over milkshakes.
After noshing, pop into the little shop next door, or pick up a few plants in the nursery.
