Giulio’s Café

Went very excitedly to try Giulio's cafe this week. The restaurant is exquisite, light and airy with the undeniable touch of Mr. Michael Chandler in the decor. The food, equally lovely in texture and flavour. We ate from the harvest table from which you can have either 3 salads or 5 salads. A few niggles though that will hopefully be teased out: There is not enough wait staff - we were seated very energetically and then ignored until we went up to the harvest table. No drinks order taken etc. We picked our salads and a meat accompaniment (homemade Italian meatballs - a dream) BUT it wasn't explained to us properly beforehand so the meatballs were actually the 'baked dish' for R45 and not the 'meat/chicken salad accompaniment' for R15. We should have known though, I suppose because the quantity was very generous! Final quibble - my friends both ordered juices which never arrived and then had to be asked to be taken off the bill. VERDICT: awesome space, delectable food just needs some tweaking in the service department and it's a GO!
