As American is it gets. The Bourbon brown sugar sauce on the Ringer burger was good, but that's sort of where it ended. The patties were over cooked and nothing memorable - a shame when small local burger franchises can pull it off better with our world class SA beef, at half the price (R175 for a burger and chips is rough). The fries were bland and all his signature dishes were a let down. Bacon, mac&cheese on a burger is just that, a bunch of ingredients thrown together and never really felt like it came together as a meal. Cheap crisps and pretzels stuck in a (admittedly great) baked cheesecake, again, were never going to merge as a good dessert. The ambience however, is very vibey with friendly service. It's not an unpleasant experience, but véry expensive for what you get, which is why I am very unlikely to recommend or return to Guy's SA 'dive'.
