We had a "picnic" on Sunday 23 Feb 14. It was terrible! I purchased an internet group buying voucher for a picnic for two, I guess they would argue that they fulfilled the stated requirements but the quality was far below standard and for the price I would have done a better job going to a convenience store . For R145 (usually R130 pp) we received cold pies, wimp tasteless crispy chicken, a side salad, two slices ham, nothing seemed homemade, what looked like a flat pan fried quiche and the smallest cheese platter I've ever seen. They only thing we actually enjoyed was the fresh fruit salad (we didn't even touch the chocolate brownies which looked like the chocolate cake squares you get on airplane) I have used group vouchers before for picnics and cheese platters and those wine estates got it absolutely right in quality and for marketing purposes! And since, we revisited them and recommended each of those estates (Knorhoek, Zorgvliet, Warwick). I would not recommend Hazendal to anyone! They even charged us extra for an ice bucket and glasses for the estate MCC we bought??? Never have I purchase wine from the estate to be enjoyed there and have to pay extra for that. Never Again Hazendal
