We love to drive along the R62, soak in the country side at leisure on the quieter back roads while travelling between Cape Town and Plettenberg Bay. Barrydale is a quaint and laid back town. We have had the pleasure of staying at the Barry Karoo Hotel for first time about 6 years ago and have enjoyed each return visit since. While retaining its old character, the hotel is very well maintained, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and unique in size, decor and proportions - we have stayed in quite a few. The restaurant offering is surprisingly impressive for a small town Hotel with unpretentious well prepared dishes and an excellent wine-list including but not limited to some choice "Karoo" wines. Generous Morning breakfasts with decent coffee are equally tasteful offering good value!
