We knew Longridge Wines but not the restaurant situated between Somerset West and Stellenbosch, called Johan's, on the estate, so were not sure what to expect. A scenic location with views as promised of Table Mountain, and a contemporary venue, surrounded by beautiful, well tended and nurtured vegetable gardens, the work of Chris Olivier, at this Dutch owned estate, where we were warmly greeted by charming informed staff augered well. The lovely indoor and outdoor dining areas, uniquely beautiful locally produced crockery, and artful design, intrigued and pleased us. With a menu from Dutch chef Marissa Chandansing and her team from an open kitchen, the excellent Longridge wines, with a further choice of other labels, this has to be one of the most delightful relative newcomers to the area. We will be back.
