This place was packed last Saturday morning. We took it as a good sign and grabbed the last table. The Vredehoek wind was howling, but we lucked out with a corner (fairly sheltered) table in the sun. The menu is very affordable – I think that's the reason for the crowd. There are some basic options from around R40. I had a good Caprese omlet (R65) – loaded with cheese, fresh basil and cherry tomatoes. My partner's poached eggs were somewhat over medium (and done in one of those poaching pans rather than water poached), but we weren't too unhappy. Coffee was decent – Deluxe I think. All-in-all, a good spot for a cheap breakfast (considering some other spots are pushing R100 these days with their egg dishes). There's definitely some room for refinement, but I'd go back if I were in the area again.
