The Bistro in Beacon Bay is a fairly new restaurant, located in a prime spot in a local business park and developing residential area. Since there is much construction taking place around the area, there doesn’t seem to be much foot traffic, but the potential is huge, and it’s a great time for them to perfect their trade! The restaurant’s décor is chic and modern, but has a distinctly comfortable and cosy feel. Service was ready and waiting to seat us with a smile as we arrived. The coffee was divine and set the tone for the breakfast, which was superb – eggs done as I’d asked, crispy bacon and the touch of balsamic reduction was a treat not often added in cafes. The only negative thing I have to say about the breakfast, was that the English muffin seemed to be more of a small ciabatta roll than an English muffin. Also an even better touch would be if they made their own bread, or at least sourced homemade bread, instead of store bought sliced bread. Small touches like the attention to décor, the menu you tick off and write on, the food presentation, and the delicious coffee, make The Bistro a restaurant to visit again.
