An oasis amidst the bustle of Noordhoek Farm Village, 'The Food Barn' remains a culinary star in the southern Peninsula. With its seasonal a la carte and tasting menus, it is in the higher price bracket, but Franck (always welcoming, friendly and knowing his guests) is a joy to support. With delicious starters such as those prawn fritters and some wonderful desserts such as the posset, one doesn't even need to indulge in a main. Useful too are wines by the caraffe and the bottle, and their Winter special menus have a deservedly loyal following. Great and unusual sadly in Cape Town, to see the simple but effective use of fresh flowers as part of the decor.
