Visited Hussar Grill Gateway on 23 July for dinner, after failing to secure a reservation at my fav Havana Grill Umhlanga. I was impressed by the restaurant ambiance and vibe. Dark woods with green leathered upholstery, muted lighting made for a very relaxed restaurant. Service from the hostess, waitress and manager was top notch. Sadly though the food was very average. Starter portion of calamari, though well cooked, was very small. My 300g rump steak was average in terms of cut. I was presented with a flat piece of meat, possible what one would expect of Spur, not a top end steak restaurant. The pepper sauce however was very good. Can't see myself rushing to return anytime soon.
