I predict this is going to be one of THE destinations in the Winelands! Actually I'm surprised not having heard about it before my visit which was by chance, I have to admit. The scene is set - on a sunny day - when you drive along an avenue of trees and their shadows towards a spectacular mountain view. As you walk into The Tasting Menu (look at the unusual lamp shades!) everything glimmers and shines; service is warm and friendly and you are made to feel like a prized guest. If you choose to do a la carte, do not miss the beef cheeks! Sublime! I'm going to go back for more! The Wines of the World Wine and Food Tasting was an absolute treat. The ginger beer glaze with the cold smoked salmon as first pairing with champagne was interesting and unusual and well-paired and set the tone for what was to follow. I feel as if I don't want to spoil it by describing what was to follow though I think the Confit Duck with cherry and juniper was my favourite... or maybe the crispy Karoo Lamb... I've already recommended the experience to numerous friends. I do not know another place where you will eat a imported French fromage selection like they have available here - I'm still dreaming about the truffle cheese!
