Tiger’s Milk

We made a booking for Sat night, 23 May, at 8pm for 6 people. Our friends arrived first, only to be told that there was no booking and were placed at a table amongst the drinkers and noise. When we arrived, I checked and sure enough, the booking was found, although incorrectly spelt. We were moved to a table alongside the kitchen. The waiter presented us with a drinks/cocktail list. I ordered a Frozen Margarita from the list, only to be told that there was none. The drinks which we then ordered arrived and we promptly gave our food order - straight from the menu, with no variations. This was at 8 30pm. We kept asking the waiter to check on our order and he repeatedly advised that it would be coming up soon. At 10 20pm, we were really annoyed, we even identified a few of our food items that were standing on the kitchen pass, awaiting delivery to the table. Three items arrived, a pizza, a peri-peri chicken and a burger, they were all cold. There were still 3 food items outstanding. I went to look for the manager on duty. I explained the series of unfortunate and unacceptable events. He was apologetic and said that he’d make it up to us by offering desserts on the house. Clearly at this stage, we were not interested in desserts and wanted no more of this. One of our friends at our table phoned another restaurant who said that they would keep their kitchen open until 11pm for us. We advised the manager we were leaving. We wanted to pay for our drinks, however, he said we didn't need to. He continued to apologise profusely and said I’d be contacted on Mon morning, 25 May, I have not received any call or message, the whole day. Some observations about Tiger's Milk: · The place really doesn’t know if it’s a restaurant or just a watering hole. It’s overbearingly noisy and overfilled with drinkers. If one decides to eat there, don’t bother with conversation. · We cannot comment about the food because after 2 hours, we never got to eat · The kitchen is far too small for such a large space and cannot cope. · There is no kitchen management or system. · The place obviously has a capacity limit but that limit is far exceeded, making it a real risk in terms of fire danger, occupational health and safety, etc. · Management appears inexperienced and just plain overwhelmed. We are left feeling very disappointed :-( PS: We never tasted the food, however, to submit this review, it states that you have to rate the food, hence the one star rating.
