Since opening in December 2007, the restaurant has built a reputation for serving one of the best breakfasts in Clarens. Describing his recent breakfast at 278 on Main, Brendan Seery, Executive Editor, The Star said "The omelettes and cappuccinos are the equivalent of the best anywhere in the world."
The breakfast menu ranges from cereal with yoghurt and honey for the not so hungry to a hearty English breakfast.
No tortured or chain store food here. Just really tasty and original home cooked food.
Lovely ambience and food. I was disappointed in the fact that all three of our meals were charged at a different rate than on the menu. When we pointed it out to our service provider and the lady accepting the cash they merely shrugged their shoulders. Please advertise the correct amount on your menu.
You have to go to 278 on Main for wonderful home cooking, large generous portions, friendly staff and warmth and charm. We had the oxtail with roasted vegetables and mash potato - better than mom makes it.
